Voting’s now open for Volunteering WA’s people’s choice award, and last year’s winner Ruby Eagle is encouraging you to vote.

Ex-teacher Ruby was recognised with the ‘Spirit of Volunteering’ Award for her 25 years of weekly volunteering at AQWA in Hillarys.

“When people vote, they can see what the 10 finalists have been doing and this can inspire them to volunteer too,” she told award-sponsor Community News. “It’s personally very rewarding.”

The people’s choice award is part of the 2019 WA Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Guildford resident Ruth Anderson, who has volunteered for nearly 40 years at Nulsen Disability Services, is a finalist in two categories, the people’s choice and the WA Lifetime Contribution award.

The awards will be presented at a gala dinner at Crown Perth on May 22 during National Volunteer Week.

Voting for this year’s people’s choice is open here at Volunteering WA and will close on April 16.
