MIDLAND-Guildford suffered their second loss of the Premier Cricket season after a disappointing display against an impressive South Perth at Lilac Hill on Saturday.
The Sky Blues won by seven wickets, chasing down the target with 16 balls to spare, to leave Midland-Guildford down in 12th after four rounds.
Batting first, Stewart Walters smashed 119 from 112 balls to lay the platform for his side, with youngster Hayden Cobley scoring a patient for 79.
However, the Swans bowling unit struggled as Hilton Cartwright’s century was enough to give the Sky Blues victory.
Cartwright combined with fellow opener Hugh Brown for a 192-run opening partnership with the Swans attack unable to make any significant inroads.
Will Riley finished with 2-30.
The Swans are away to Perth next Saturday in the first of the two-day fixtures.
