X-Files in the Hills: Paranormal investigator needs some hardy back-up

Sarah BrookesMidland Kalamunda Reporter

PARANORMAL investigator Tammie Anna-Louise Haebick is on the hunt for crew members with nerves of steel to document and record paranormal activities in some of Perth’s most haunted establishments.

The Hills-based investigator said hunting for evidence of the spirit world was not for the faint-hearted.

“Looking for evidence of the paranormal and finding proof of their existence is quite a freaky thing to do so it’s really important to have hardcore people on board who have a passion for the field.

“We usually conduct the investigations at night using a number of different devices such as EVP recorders, infrared equipment and spirit boxes.”

Mrs Haebick said there were many places in Perth that were haunted.

“There have been so many stories about strange happenings at the Old York Hospital,” she said.

“I’ve had many friends say it is the scariest place they have ever been to.”

Mrs Haebrick said the Swan View tunnel, Kalamunda Hotel, Fremantle Arts Centre, Mundaring Hotel and Claremont Asylum were also haunted.

“Although I have seen so much it’s never enough for me,” she said.

“Seeking out the paranormal is an adrenalin rush and not something I ever tire from.”

Mrs Haebick said she had been able to see the paranormal since the age of four, following the death of her little sister.

“After the death of my sister just after her first birthday I started to see ghosts and angels,” she said.

“My sister’s spirit kept me strong and I believe my ability to see the paranormal actually saved me from going down to wrong track.

“Not a lot of people believe in what we do, and what we see, however this is part of why I do what I do – to turn the non-believers into believers.”
