BICKLEY resident Connor Disselkoen (17) is turning his hobby of aerial imaging into a commercial enterprise, earning him the title of Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2017 Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce Awards.

The Guildford Grammar student said he had been fascinated with drones since he was a little boy.

“I became fascinated by science, technology and innovation from a young age, and purchased my first drone when I was 12,” he said.

“During my early teens I enjoyed the challenge of combining a drone, cameras and viewing googles before these items were packaged as one unit.

“At first, it was only a hobby; however, as more people asked me to take shots |of their property and houses I started to see a business opportunity.”

Mr Disselkoen said he was excited about the future of the $100 billion industry.

“I founded Aerial Resolutions Australia in early 2017 with the aim of providing a drone imaging service for the Hills region. The local business community has been very supportive,” he said.
