Soft on crime

I HAD to read the article in last week's edition headlined "Turning criminal behaviour around" just in case I had misread what our Government representatives are trying to feed us with.

Are Sgt Phil Ward and Police Minister Liza Harvey living on the same planet?

Not send criminals to court for what they deem as minor crimes. Since when is stealing or fraud a minor crime?

Minor to the offender perhaps and what on Earth do they class as a “non-serious assault”.

Once again we have the powers-that-be going soft on crime.

How about trying to increase punishment levels?

Perhaps then the offenders might actually think twice about committing the crimes.
