Growing Movida wins hearts of first-home buyers

FIRST-HOME buyers Natasha and Darel Coutinho have fallen in love with their new home at Movida Estate and are overjoyed with the community spirit and their “second family”.

Mrs Coutinho, who is a chef by trade, and Mr Coutinho, who works as a people and retail manager, chose Peet’s Midvale estate because of its modern but family feel and the convenience of being close to a hub like Midland.

The couple even set the Movida trend of hosting “slab” parties, inviting friends and neighbours for a night of pizza and picnic rugs before their house was built.

“We had neighbours and other people from the estate, who were in the process of building, join us. It was a really fun night,” Mrs Coutinho said.

“The community spirit here at Movida is really strong.

“Whilst we were overseas for a month, we had neighbours sharing photos of our home as it went up with us even though we didn’t know them too well.”

With a group of other residents, they have helped to build the community spirit from the ground up, hosting Halloween parties, contributing to future plans for public spaces in the area and actively connecting with new residents.

“Everyone in our community is really active on our local Facebook page and also when we catch up at the park or at local community events,” Mrs Coutinho said.

There is an opportunity for homebuyers to join the community following the launch of stage 7A.

The lots range from 188sq m to 458sq m and are priced from $159,000.

They are in walking distance to Wiluna Park, which has a kick-about area, soccer goals and a playground for all ages.

Close to 200 residents call Movida home, enjoying a spacious park and playground.

The estate also has a display village featuring some of Perth’s leading builders and the latest in contemporary design.
