ASHLEY Mucciarone was the star for Midland-Guildford with six wickets as he restricted a star-studded University outfit to 218 in round eight of WACA Premier Cricket.
Uni boasted the likes of WA opener Will Bosisto and Scorchers duo Ashton Agar and James Muirhead in its line-up at James Oval, but the Swans’ bowlers were on song on day one on Saturday.
Mucciarone was the catalyst with his stunning figures of 6-40 from 18 overs, in a breakthrough performance.
Bevan Bennell chimed in with two crucial wickets, including the prize scalp of Agar.
Tim Armstrong and Jack Baker were also among the wickets.
In reply, Midland-Guildford is 1-16, with a wicket falling in the five overs it had to face late in the day.
Play resumes on Saturday at 11.40am.
