Hasluck MP Ken Wyatt presented the young sports stars with $500 grants each to cover the cost of State and national- level competitions.

‘The local sports stars were chosen not only because of their individual commitment to their sport, but also because they have given back to our community through refereeing and coaching younger teams,’ Mr Wyatt said.

‘Being a sports star is much more than collecting a medal at the end of a race; so much hard work goes into sport, both on and off the field.’

Mr Wyatt said that the achievements of the young people were testament to the dedication of their families.
