Football: Kalamunda Cougars outclassed by West Coast Cowan by 43 points

KALAMUNDA Cougars A grade sides came off the mid-season bye and headed down to West Coast Cowan on Saturday but unfortunately were outclassed across all grades.

The colts started the day with a 59-point loss, despite the efforts of captain Angus Saastamoinen and best-on-ground Matt Arnold.

The reserves hung around all day but were never able to pinch the lead, going down 5.11 (41) to 4.6 (30).

Almost a mention for captain Beau Barratt but still nothing, with swamp dawg Jason “get around me” Brescacin and man mountain Jarrod Brunskill among the Cougars best.

The league team had some big ins but couldn’t do damage on the scoreboard, going down in the end by 43 points.

Despite not being what he used to be, Kris Walling was good with Adam Pottinger’s brother Trent judged best-on.

At Ray Owen, The D2 league team had another strong win 15.11 (101) to 7.2 (44), with Chris Frawley playing well and Ben Bowness again dominant.

Earlier the D2 reserves won 10.13 (73) to 5.3 (33), to move into second spot on the ladder. “Scooba” Steve Cameron was kicking goals up forward with captain Luke Reilly brilliant across half back.
