Football: Kalamunda Cougars show lots of heart in win over Wesley Curtin and in fundraising effort for Heart Kids WA

ON a day when the Kalamunda Cougars Football Club raised more than $5000 for Heart Kids WA, the A grade league team showed plenty of heart and recorded a huge win.

The Cougars defeated Wesley Curtin by 16 points in a hard-fought contest.

Jarrod Brunskill continued his impressive form, and Matthew “I’ll have another article to add to the scrapbook” Outridge was again best afield.

Finally a mention for captain Beau Barratt, who led the reserves from the front with team menace Jay Rakich best on the ground. Unfortunately, the boys went down by 47 points.

The colts battled hard but were outclassed and lost by 55 points, with Ash Bartlett and Brenton Lucas playing well.

The D2 league and reserves teams travelled to Wanneroo and recorded two strong wins, by 11 goals and 9 goals respectively.

Tyrone Clark was dominant across half forward, with Daniel Henderson also playing well. Earlier Luke Reilly led superbly across half-back for the D2 reserves, with Tom Dudfield also good and earning his first newspaper mention.
