Football: Kalamunda Cougars still in top form

THE Kalamunda Cougars E1 team continued its impressive season at home on Saturday taking out Coolbellup by 15 points 9.9 (63) to 6.12 (48). The inclusion of Jay Preece at centre half forward was a bonus as he took out best on ground honours, with Daniel Henderson leading the way in the middle.

Down at Scarborough despite leading late, the Colts faded as their opponents kicked the last three goals to win 10.6 (66) to 7.6 (48). Aaron Hutchison was great for Kalamunda, with Adam Brescacin playing his heart out on ball.

The Reserves took on a second place Scarborough team, and competed well all day despite losing 11.5 (71) to 6.6 (42).

Michael Kosovich continued his impressive season down back while Justin van Nieuwburg was best on for Kalamunda.

The league team were soundly beaten 14.16 (100) to 9.11 (65) despite the great play of captain Brett van Groningen and Daniel Brescacin off half back.
