Friday night teen fun

The Friday Night Lights competition offers divisions for under-14s, under-16s, and 18s and under, with $3000 worth of prizes donated from Slater-Gartrell Sports and Swan Park Leisure Centre.

City of Swan Mayor Charlie Zannino said the contest was an active outlet for teenagers.

‘Friday Night Lights is an exciting new competition scheduled on Friday evenings so competitors can have a run with their mates and also have a social outlet at the start of the weekend, when they might be looking for something to do,’ he said.

‘We’re expecting the competition to be attractive due to the number of teenagers in our local area and the growing interest in basketball among this age group.’
