THREE new cricket nets with synthetic turf will be built at Helena College Senior Campus following a $30,000 grant to help cover the works.
Kalamunda MLA Matthew Hughes announced the funds would be provided through the Local Projects, Local Jobs initiative designed to keep work and productivity in WA.
Helena College Senior Schools’ physical education department will use the $51,000 nets for the 500 students on the Glen Forrest campus.

READ NOWIt will also benefit the local community and sporting clubs accessing the nets on weekends and school holidays.
Mr Hughes said the sporting program was an important part of school life and crucial to the students overall well-being and health in their teenage years.
“This funding will allow the Helena College to complete these needed nets and help them to offer quality sporting programs into the future,” he said.
