For his eighth City to Surf challenge, he will participate with a team of people living with disability.

He will be encouraged every step of the way by support workers Rebecca Garfield and Sinead Morgan, who will travel with the team across the State.

“I’m excited to be going away with Rebecca and Sinead to Albany, Karratha, Geraldton and Busselton; and going on a plane,” he said.

The event organisers described the 2016 City to Surf for Activ series as the ultimate bucket list challenge, with only 68 series finishers to date.

Aaron works at Activ Business Services in Embleton and lives with friends in an Activ-supported home.

Activ chief executive Danielle Newport, a three-time series finisher, said Aaron was an outgoing person with a great sense of humour. “Doing the series is a fantastic achievement and I’m so proud of the Activ ambassadors, who have committed to take on the series challenge,” she said.

“I can’t wait to join them on their journey and watch as they reach their goals and achieve personal milestones.”

She said new experiences were an important part of Aaron’s life and he liked to capture his travels through his photography.

The Activ ambassador keeps fit by attending dance classes and playing ten-pin bowling.

Fellow veteran Mark Bernardi (37) will join Aaron for the walk series. Mark has participated in 14 City to Surf events, completing his first challenge when he was 13.

Regional ambassadors Janelle Hitchcock, Jack McSweeney and Merv King round out the Activ team. They will cross the Perth finishing line on August 14, along with more than 35,000 others.
