Kalamunda Cougars name season’s top cat

THE Kalamunda Cougars held their end of year function at the Novotel Langley, with more than 200 people attending.

Matthew Outridge won the league best and fairest and took home the Enright Medal, with last year’s winner Brett van Groningen and Peter Kerslake tying for second place.

Beau Barratt capped off a super year by winning the reserves best, with young gun Sammy Hodgkin winning the colts’ top award.

Ben Bowness won the Alex Keeffe Medal for being the best for the D2 League ahead of Daniel Henderson, and Matt van Herk won the D2 Reserves best and fairest and the player of the finals award.

The coveted most courageous award went to Steve Caccetta, with colt Angus Saastamoinen ending a great season by being awarded club person of the year and coming second in the colts voting.

Alex Haight was the only person granted life membership, after reaching 200 games earlier this season and being a permanent fixture at the bar for over a decade.
