Shoot hoops with Aussie Rollers

Adam Deans lost his leg after being diagnosed with sarcoma at 17 and, along with Darwin’s Tom O’Neil-Thorne, will be in the shire for an event on April 2.

“We had our world championships last year, which was a huge thing, and the next progression is the Olympic Games,” O’Neil-Thorne said.

“I’ve been dreaming of this since I was a kid – like most Aussie kids do – and to even be in the qualificers is huge.”

The duo will be in Kalamunda to help raise money for their team to make it to the Rio Olympics. There will be a hoop and basketball so people can come down and shoot some hoops with the stars.

As a fundraiser for the team to help them on their way to Rio, the Kalamunda Toyota office will hold a sausage sizzle in the Barbecue Trailer, and water and soft drinks will be on sale on the day.

Management hopes to get some onlookers to help generate a good atmosphere for the fundraiser.

The team has a Facebook page for fans to follow their journey to Brazil, at https:// www.facebook.com/|Aussie-Rollers-268603999922088/
