A Mt Helena athletics club member, Riley (13) loves all sport, but has been outstanding at athletics recently.
He is carving a niche as an all-rounder with his abilities in running and hurdles but a keen interest in discus and long jump as well.
An Eastern Hills High School student, he was champion boy at athletics at his Chidlow Primary School for Years 4, 5, 6, and 7.
He has been a cricketer and has broken records for shot put, discus, triple jump, 100m, 200m, hurdles over 80m and 200m and received the Len Roper Trophy for centre highest achiever, the J. Robinson Trophy for most improved and the Rosebowl trophy for most points U13-17 boys at his Little Athletics Club in Mundaring.

Riley was able to take part in the interstate athletics championships through sponsorship. A team of 22 from WA travelled to Melbourne in May. He was selected as the team captain for the boys, and won gold for the 80m hurdles with a time of 11.95s (0.11 off a national record) and the gold medal 4x100m relay as part of the winning team of four. He also participated in the long jump and discus.
He plays basketball in the WABL league for Kalamunda Eastern Suns. In rugby union he plays for the Kalamunda Bulls District Rugby Club.
