YOUNG Kalamunda Tigers players had the opportunity to meet past and present AFL stars at the Ray Owen Reserve when they were visited by Murray Newman and Midlands favourite son, Nic Naitanui.
West Coast Eagles Back man Jamie Bennell and rising star Liam Duggin also came along to help the young players with their training routines and talk tactics, team work drills and good sportsmanship with the team.
Swan Districts Football Club who organised the event with the young players said the Eagles players took the youngsters through their drills on a normal Monday night training session for the Year 7, Year 8 and Year 11 students.
The Kalamunda and Districts Junior Football Club President Dave Farthing said the boys enjoyed the session immensely.
“It was fantastic to see the players take the time to visit the local junior club and interact with the players in the manner they did,” Mr Farthing said.
The players gave autographs for the young future stars at Kalamunda and stayed at the club for three hours.
