Swans short of runs: WACA Premier Cricket

MIDLAND-Guildford had a five-wicket round 1 loss to Perth in the Premier Cricket Competition at Lilac Hill on Saturday.

Swans skipper Stewart Walters scored 84 not out from 68 deliveries.

Batting first after Perth skipper Luke Jury won the toss and sent them in, the home side were held together by Walters as they reached 226 from their 50 overs.

All-rounder Tim Armstrong (31) and wicketkeeper Christiaan Moir (22) helped post a competitive team total.

Perth’s batting line-up got on top in reply, with Jake Snadden leading the way at the top of the order alongside Tasmanian recruit Jonathan Wells.

Snadden (78) and Wells (47) put on 106 runs for the first wicket, before Ashley Mucciarone (2-44) got the breakthrough.

Tim Hutchison was best bowler taking 3-23 but Perth still got home.

Midland-Guildford play Rockingham-Mandurah at Lark Hill this Saturday.
