THE State Government has delivered on an election promise to the Forrestfield and Districts Bowling Club.

Forrestfield MLA Stephen Price has delivered $60,000 in funding to the club to go towards the installation of a synthetic green.

The synthetic green will replace one of the greens affected by wear and tear and winter’s poor weather conditions.

Club president Geoff Tillemans hopes that the installation will encourage an increase in membership, with the green usable all year round.

“Over the last five or six years two clubs in the area surrounding us have closed,” he said.

“The synthetic green will allow us to compete against other clubs and will hopefully encourage players looking for another club to join us.”

Forrestfield and Districts Bowling Club expect the installation to start in March 2018.
