Coach Greg Harding said the players would have the weekend off after working hard on the track this week.

He said it had been a long, hard pre-season and tough first few games, including matches played in hot weather, such as Saturday’s win over East Perth.

“We have six games in a row until our next bye,” he said.

“So we want to get back fresh and pain-free next week.”

Swans go into the break after their 10-point win over the AFL-aligned Royals at Leederville Oval at the weekend – their third victory for the season, surpassing their two wins for 2016.

They won 11.7 (73) to 9.9 (63), with Taryce Stewart kicking four goals for the black-and-whites and former West Coast Eagle Xavier Ellis booting two. Stewart was among the best, as was teammate and ex-Eagle Jamie Bennell.

Swans will be away to East Fremantle on Saturday, April 15.

“With Crowls (Ryan Crowley) and (Jake) Nuich due to return, we should be close to full strength,” Harding said.
