THE PERTH Scorchers will be out to keep fourth spot in the lead-up to the WBBL finals after defeating the Hobart Hurricanes on Sunday at Lilac Hill.

They face the sixth-placed Melbourne Renegades in an away double header on January 27 and 28.

Sunday’s game was on the line before Nicole Bolton let loose with the bat to hand the Scorchers a six-wicket win.

Her 60 not out featured two fours and a six from the final five deliveries she faced to get the Scorchers home with seven balls to spare.

Her fellow opener and Midland Guildford local Elyse Villani made 21.

The Hurricanes had posted their second-highest score of the season, with Georgia Redmayne’s 53 leading the visitors to 7-130 off their 20 overs.

The Scorchers bowlers spread the wickets, with six taking a single, while Erin Fazackerley was run out trying for an extra run on the final ball of the innings.
