DAVID (57) and Joan (49) Kerr’s decision to pack up their lives on the east coast and move west six months ago is paying dividends in unexpected ways.
Since then they’ve driven across Australia, started new jobs, bought a block, started building a house and embarked on a design challenge that is out of their comfort zone.
Thanks to Yanchep Golf Estate the Kerrs are set to go on a $15,000 shopping spree at Freedom to fit out their four-bedroom, two-bathroom home on a 375sqm block.
“As soon as I knew we had $15,000 to spend at Freedom I started looking and so far I’ve visited Freedom’s Joondalup store about a dozen times trying to decide what to buy,” Mrs Kerr said.
“We have always been big on cosy-country style but decided our new house needs modern furniture so this shopping spree gives us the chance to start afresh at a new stage of our lives.”
The couple looked at the estate on recommendation from friends living there, and fell in love with the community feel.
