BUTLER’S IGA reopened as a 24-hour supermarket today.

Rebello Group general manager Michelle Kelly said the Butler IGA Food Market on the corner of Kingsbridge Boulevard and Connolly Drive would be open 24/7.

“We opened this morning at 6am – we won’t close now until Christmas Day,” she said.

The supermarket owners also have 24/7 stores in Quinns Rocks and Mullaloo, as well as owning the Merriwa supermarket.

Miss Kelly said the opening hours would cater for parents who may need milk or other supplies for crying children at night, and FIFO workers.

Miss Kelly said the response had already been positive, with shoppers who lived nearby saying they were happy the store had reopened.

“We are trying to be different; we’ve really tried to give it a market feel,” she said.

“We are trying to keep competitive selling prices while keeping good quality.

“Our fruit and veg is really good quality – we have our own fruit and veg specialists.

“All our meat is cut by butchers – we have our own butchers.”

Miss Kelly said there was a 24/7 coffee shop in the store, served by barista-trained staff, and the store catered for vegans, vegetarians and provided ready-made meals.

Adam Rowswell is the store manager, supported by Leah Thompson, and Miss Kelly said the store had employed about 50 people, including security guards.

She said the adjacent Cellarbrations liquor store had also reopened, operating from 8.30am to 8.30pm, and they had applied to open to 10pm.
