SOCIAL media posts led a Clarkson resident to set up a home business selling handmade wedding dresses.

Sophie Linardopoulos said she started Zolotas Australia to sell dresses made in Europe after attending her cousin’s wedding.

“Whilst I was in Greece at a family wedding I uploaded an image of the bride and groom to my social media page and received private messages asking where the wedding dress was from,” she said.

“I then made contact with the European designer VG Zolotas who has stores in Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain and Dubai.

“I asked him if he could bring the handmade dresses into Australia as these were styles Australia had never seen before.”

Miss Linardopoulos said within 24 hours of uploading images of the dresses to a Facebook page called ‘Help a Sister out in Perth’, she had more than 800 messages asking her for prices or to set up a store.
