Lloyd and Cheryl Parker, of Alkimos, opened Brewed Awakening Cafe on January 4 with his father Raymond.

His wife Glynis, who is a City of Wanneroo councillor, said the family business aimed to provide fresh food and coffee prepared on site.

“Lloyd is the pastry chef and has 12 years experience in the industry; all pastries are baked fresh daily on site,” she said.

“We also roast our own beans, which are also available for sale to all customers; the best Arabica coffees are used.”

Located beside Clarkson Library, the cafe includes a coffee bean roasting machine and baking ovens.

“We have three distinct areas: inside the cafe; the library, which we have furnished in a comfortable, relaxed manner; and the outside terrace area,” Cr Parker said.

The Wanneroo council unanimously approved the five-year lease of the 83sq m site to the Parker family on April 28 last year.

Cr Parker was not part of the vote.
