Garden gurus downsize

The couple, who run Yanchep Garden Centre and Landscape Supplies, were reluctant to give up a rural property they had enjoyed since moving to Perth from the UK in 2007.

However, they said they were swapping their previous 2.8-hectare property for a 1355sq m home site in the Peet estate.

The Smiths, who have two adult children and one teenager, are also in the midst of relocating and expanding their business.

‘The garden centre has been doing really well since we took it over about three years ago,’ Mrs Smith said. ‘We’re doubling its size and we’re even going to be opening our own small cafe.’

Thirteen lots were released at the estate on February 1.
