Hi-tech bank cheques and balances service

Staff ReporterNorth Coast Times

The Westpac branch in Yanchep Central Shopping Centre has an open-plan layout with self-service banking facilities and specialist banking staff, according to manager Mark Manson.

Mr Manson said the investment in Yanchep’s first bank was indicative of Westpac’s focus on the community, providing residents with convenience and one of the most advanced approaches to banking in Australia.

‘The feedback from those of our customers who have already used the branch has been tremendous,’ he said.

‘Most of our customers are really impressed and can’t believe such a hi-tech branch has arrived in Yanchep.

‘After demonstrations by our staff on how to use the new facilities in-branch, customers have walked away as true converts of the Westpac Bank Now format.’

The branch includes 24/7 self-service ATMs that accept cash, coin and cheque deposits, and facilities to exchange notes for coins.

Inside, it has a reception area where staff handle simple inquiries and transactions at computer pods.

Personal bankers also help customers use a computerised teller system, and there is a lounge area with tablets for people to check their accounts, make transfers and pay bills.
