I wanna be a part of it: Butler’s New York New York Pizza and Grill proving a family favourite

A SLICE of New York fare arrived in Butler last month, and it’s already proving a family favourite.

John Hutton, who built up a chain of traditional English fish and chips shops across the northern suburbs, has ventured across the Atlantic for his next restaurant.

Mr Hutton opened New York New York Pizza and Grill on March 15 and said the response from customers so far had been “fantastic”.

“Everyone thinks the design and concept is fantastic,” he said.

“I wanted to bring a bit of New York to Perth.

“We do New York-style pizzas; we do ribs, steaks, barbecue and hot dogs.”

Mr Hutton used to own the Chippy’s franchise of fish and chips shops, including the Chippy’s Beach Shack in Jindalee, and has worked in the industry for 27 years.

“I’ve been in the food business since I was 15 years old,” he said.

Located in Butler Central Shopping Centre, opposite Butler train station, the restaurant has a family friendly atmosphere with a 45sq m playground.

Mr Hutton said there was live entertainment in the restaurant during the evening on weekends and he was in the process of getting a liquor licence.

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Thursday and from 11am to 9pm on Fridays and weekends.
