A $3 million medical centre has opened in Two Rocks.

Doctors Michael Gendy and Asaad A. Kareem own the Jupiter Health and Medical Services clinic in Atlantis Beach estate, overlooking Breakwater Drive.

It has five consulting rooms for doctors, a nurse’s consulting room, a dedicated pathology room, two-bed treatment room as well as a separate surgery room for minor medical procedures.

Practice manager Sarah Berwick said that the medical centre offered general medical, skin cancer screening, dermatology and cosmetic services.

“We plan to expand these services in the near future to include pathology, physiotherapy, psychology, immunisations as well as dentistry,” she said.

“Our key objective is to become a community and patient medical hub for the local residents.

“In particular, we will be focusing on filling the gaps of the current medical services available in the area.”

Dr Kareem is the inaugural GP based at the practice, bringing more than 20 years’ experience as a medical practitioner.

He has specialist qualifications in skin cancer, dermatology and cosmetic medical services.

“We are a community focused medical practice and that includes sourcing local services and staff from the local community whenever we can,” Dr Kareem said.

Atlantis Beach project director Jarrod Rendell welcomed the medical centre opening and said it was important infrastructure for the estate, which will have more than 6000 lots and 15,000 residents when built out.

“It is a major vote of confidence in the long term future of the estate by one of the biggest medical providers in WA,” he said.

“Our research indicates that convenient medical services are a key social infrastructure facility required by new residents.”
