A CHEERLEADING trip to the US inspired mother Jane Bryer and her daughter Olivia (14) to open a boutique in Clarkson.

Mrs Bryer said they visited a boutique called Paris & Me while in the US in May for Olivia’s cheerleading competition, the Summit Worlds Championship.

“On the plane heading home I started to think about it seriously and started to design a logo, wanting to call the boutique Liv & Me,” she said.

The Mindarie resident said her daughter had been applying for casual jobs without luck, so in late September she decided to make their boutique dream happen.

“I wanted Olivia to learn, grow and have fun (and) also earn a little pocket money and the value of money,” she said.

Mrs Bryer used her experience of being a jewellery wholesaler for the past nine years to start the venture and said her daughter had shown a willingness to work, strengthening the mother-daughter bond.

“We both have an eye for what women want and have selected some of the most stylish and beautiful clothes,” she said.

“Liv & Me boutique caters for women from around the ages of 20 to 80.

“Liv & Me has truly brought the fun back into shopping, offering (customers) a glass of bubbles during their shopping experience along with more of a personalised experience.”

The Caloundra Road store is open Mondays to Saturdays.
