Mrs Malinowksa said the area had plenty of history, some of which they would incorporate into its fresh look, including an old ship’s bell.

They have also changed the name of the cafe, overlooking Quinns Beach and Fred Stubbs Park, to Blue Vue Cafe.

They reopened the cafe to customers last week, with initial operating hours set from 7am to 4pm most days, and to 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays. It is closed on Tuesdays.
