THE northern coastal growth corridor will get its first 24/7 supermarket this week, with Quinns Rocks Fresh IGA extending its opening hours.

General manager Michelle Kelly said the change would take effect on March 1, and the closest existing 24/7 supermarket was Supa IGA Darch.

“We get called up all the time about what time we are open to,” she said.

Miss Kelly said they had a positive response to the announcement on social media, reaching 60,000 people on Facebook.

She said the supermarket had recruited extra staff to cater for the extended trading hours.

“We’ve got security guards as well,” she said.

At the Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association meeting on Monday night, Wanneroo Deputy Mayor Nat Sangalli said it was good news for shift workers.

The store has been in Quinns Rocks for about three decades, and had been open from 7am to 8pm, seven days a week.
