Weight loss journey inspires Clarkson resident to open Body Magik

CLARKSON resident Sarah Fraser has opened a business to help promote body confidence, Body Magik.

Mrs Fraser has swapped working as an accountant to start the Caloundra Road business after losing 80.4kg in 14 months herself.

“I am an accountant so worked in offices and at a desk my whole life – after this ‘change’ it totally made me want to do something to help others,” she said.

“My main mission or goal is to help others ‘love the body you’re in’, promoting body confidence, taking care of ourselves and loving who we are.

“We offer basic beauty treatments that every woman needs to feel good about themselves.

“We also have a few more weight loss-related, technical machines – sauna pods, fat cavitation and skin tightening, which after losing 80kg obviously my skin needed a little extra help.

“I have nearly finished my personal training degree, so that I can really help those who want it.

“Because I have been through all this that I can empathise with people and I know exactly what they are going through.

“If I had someone who had been as big as I was, trying to help me through it all, I would have definitely paid more attention to what they were telling me to do.”

Mrs Fraser said her weight loss journey included getting gastric sleeve surgery in August 2015, which initially led to her body rejecting food.

Time and hospital treatment including vitamin infusions helped her body adjust, and within six months she had lost 60kg from her original 146kg.

Keen to lose more weight before her wedding last October, she turned to the gym.
