Mindarie resident George Bartell will open The Shore Cafe at Waterfront Park, which was named by residents of Shorehaven estate through an online poll.

"I really like the name of the new cafe " a lot of people voted for it, and Im really happy with what they've chosen," he said.

Mr Bartell first ventured into the food industry in 1999 when he started the mobile coffee van franchise Cappuccino Xpress and before long he had 52 outlets all around Australia.

He started his own coffee company, Dantes Coffee, sourcing and roasting premium Arabica coffee beans and providing barista training, before managing Eliza's cafe in West Perth.

With his wife Alaine's support, Mr Bartell has been planning a menu with a mix of Italian, American and Spanish cuisines to be made in-house with fresh seasonal produce.

"We'll be baking our own bread and Italian cakes and making our own pasta from scratch daily," he said.

"We're even going to be roasting our own coffee and people can come and watch us."

The entrepreneur said he wanted to source most ingredients in WA, although there would be an international influence in the kitchen.

"By using fresh and local ingredients, we're ensuring the best and freshest flavours," he said.

"We're lucky in WA to have really good fish available in our own back yard " we also have a commercial fishing licence, so my son is going to catch all the fresh squid.

"We have an American chef who will make smoked bourbon ribs once a week, as well as the famous hanger steak burger with a 250g patty.

"We'll serve paella on Sundays and have a local barista crafting coffee."
