TEACHER Peta Flanigan will launch her novel In His Protection in Wanneroo this weekend.

The Peter Moyes Anglican Community School drama teacher thrives on encouraging young people to discover their own inner hero or heroine.

In her spare time she explores the literary world researching, learning and writing fiction stories that take the reader on a wonderful emotional journey.

“When I started my writing journey I had no idea how many hours I would spend learning the craft of writing before my manuscript came close to sending to a publisher,” Flanigan said.

Writing under the pseudonym P.L. Harris, Flanigan has become an award-winning and Amazon best-selling author, published by Australian and American publishers.

She now publishes fiction books exclusively with Gumnut Press.

“At times life can get so busy and hectic we need a place or activity where we can lose ourselves in a world of make believe, a world where even though there may be the threat of danger, ultimately there is a happy ending,” she said.

“That’s what I try and do with my writing – I write across a few different genres including young adult, cosy mysteries and romantic suspense each with its own specific set of guidelines.”

In His Protection is her first full length romantic suspense novel centred around the Maddison family and youngest daughter Melody’s quest to find the truth behind a childhood photo of her late mother.

Serenity Press publisher Karen McDermott and Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts will officially launch the book on Saturday, April 6 at Kapitol Kitchen in Wanneroo.

P.L. Harris will be available to sign purchased books.
