A SEAFOOD festival to tempt tastebuds and showcase international cuisines is coming to Alkimos this month.

Developer Peet is gearing up to host the latest in its Shore Things summer event series, with the Shorehaven Seafood Festival at Waterfront Park on March 31.

The event will feature more than 25 food vendors offering seafood delights that showcase local dishes as well as global cuisines from Spain, Italy, Thailand, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico, America and India.

Organisers are planning to provide plenty of non-seafood options and desserts as well.

“Peet is hosting the Shorehaven Seafood Festival to celebrate and showcase Shorehaven’s stunning coastline and community amenity,” managing director and chief executive Brendan Gore said.

“It’s also a great opportunity to enjoy our amazing local seafood, and celebrate cuisines and cultures form around the world.

“The festival is a Shore Things event and there will be more of those to come.”

The foreshore park will be transformed into a bohemian beach-style setting, with a number of pop-up bars, lounge areas and a DJ taking to the decks to fill the air with beachside vibes.

The festival kicks off at noon, and goes until 10pm on March 31.
