Yanchep resident Carly Nasso, Robyn Leoni Abbott (Gwelup) and Tracey Read (Bayswater) will hold their Tricky Troika exhibition in the New York warehouse-style event space of Studio 2.

The three artists all share a flair for colour and design, but vary in subject matter.

Abbotts work is often patterned explosions of abstracted landscapes and figures, sometimes with text positioned throughout.

Working as a primary school art and music specialist, Read uses colour and painterly light to portray clouds and skylines of her local surrounds.

Nasso collages paper and other materials to create unusual folktale figures in fantasy landscapes.

We found that many sales are made on opening nights, so why not just have a great opening night? Nasso said.

People are welcome to come, see a variety of fantastic WA art and if something takes their fancy, purchase it.

Nasso has been creating collages and drawings of human and animal characters for over 20 years, and said her inspiration came from Russian novels, old reference books, science fiction, geology and history.

She combines the ideas with paper, paint, photocopies, felt and digital media to create intimate relationships set in a vast, unfamiliar landscape.
