The funding of $3 million over three years will benefit about 900 students enrolled across 10 registered Curriculum and Re-engagement (CARE) school campuses from Geraldton to Albany.
Alta-1 College principal Dave Stevens said the not-for-profit organisation had a student-teacher ratio of seven to one or better.
‘We also have in-class chaplains, in-class teacher assistants and psychological services available with fully qualified psychologists,’ he said.

The funding will also be be used to continue to provide cars to pick up and drop off students.
‘On top of all that, it’s not unheard of when kids have dental issues and mum and dad aren’t around, we take them to the dentist or we’ll provide food for them,’ Mr Stevens said.
‘It’s that ‘over and above’ that we have to do to keep them safe and surviving and healthy that is imperative for us to do.’
The schools do not charge fees and rely on State, Commonwealth and non-government funding.
