A HEALTH warning regarding algae at Mindarie Marina has been lifted.

People had been advised to avoid contact with water containing red tide algae at the marina since December 16, but the Department of Health today gave an all clear for the site.

The department’s statement said water tests confirmed it was now safe for swimming, canoeing and other recreational activities, though swimming is not permitted in the marina.

People who see or suspect an algal bloom in a waterway should report it to their council or call 6250 8064.
