Alkimos Beach developers fast track road extension to ease congestion

WORK is underway to create a left-in, left-out junction connecting Pectoral Promenade to Marmion Avenue.

Alkimos Beach developers Lendlease and LandCorp started extending the promenade last month in response to an online petition seeking solutions to address congestion and give motorists a second road in and out.

“The works were brought forward to address traffic congestion at the Graceful Boulevard and Marmion Avenue intersection,” Lendlease communities general manager Anthony Rowbottam said.

“It is expected that works on the road extension will be completed later this year.

“The new intersection is planned to be configured as a left turn in from Marmion Ave and left turn out from Pectoral Promenade.”

The 279-signature petition was submitted to several organisations, including the City of Wanneroo.
