Alkimos kids to create neighbourhoods from cardboard at Build Your Community event

Tyler BrownNorth Coast Times

CHILDREN will recreate their neighbourhood with cardboard at the free Build Your Community event in Alkimos.

Shorehaven developer Peet is inviting children of all ages to Northshore Christian Grammar School from 10am to 2pm on June 23 to build their home, a building or their favourite place in the neighbourhood.

The creations will then be placed in a mock Shorehaven, complete with streets, the beach, ocean and Alkimos shipwreck.

Once completed, the overall structure will be big enough for people to walk around.

All the cardboard used will be recycled after the event, unless children want to take their creations home.

Parents are welcome to join in the craft fun or they can sit back, enjoy a free cup of coffee and watch the community unfold.
