Alkimos student wins regional Showcase competition singing Naughty from Matilda

AN Alkimos student recently won the song and dance category for her age group in the regional final of the Showcase National Dance Championships.

Singing ‘Naughty’ from Matilda, Kate Morrissey, who is a Year 4 student at St James Anglican School, won the 9-10 age group at the October 9 competition.

Kate was also placed second in the ‘league of champions’ category and will be going to the national finals for Australia and New Zealand with Clarkson’s Da Beat Dance School.

She will compete in junior song and dance solo, junior jazz, junior vocal section and league of champions. Kate will also perform in two troupes for 10 and under jazz and tap.
