Ashes rivalry set to burn brightly

Staff ReporterNorth Coast Times

In keeping with its Australia Day tradition, Brighton Estate Residents Association (BERA) will host the Brighton Ashes on Sunday, January 26, where Australian residents will challenge ‘the rest of the world’ in a limited overs cricket match.

BERA will hold a fundraising barbecue breakfast at Kingsbridge Park from 8am before the game starts at 10am.

Satterley Property Group’s community development co-ordinator Amy Blundell said the day would highlight the mix of residents.

‘The Australian team will face sides made up from several nationalities, mainly British, New Zealand and South African, although other countries will also be well represented, including those where cricket remains somewhat of a mystery,’ she said.
