FORMER Mindarie Senior College students will band together for a fundraising concert at the college this Sunday.

Mindarie Senior College Alumni Association co-founder Tim Sherry said ex-students and staff would perform at the November 2 Springbeatz concert.

‘The event hopes to bring the community together for a local arts event and raise funds to support charitable causes in the local area,’ he said.

‘Performers on the day will be a collection of ex-students, including Le’on Tod whose band Ragdoll has recently completed a tour of the United States.

‘He will be joined by singers and musicians Caleb Lane, Emily Hodson and Cody Sommer, with several other acts. Anybody can come ” it’s a community event.’

Mr Sherry said funds raised would go towards philanthropic scholarships for students involved in community projects.

Mr Sherry was one of the first students when the college opened in 2004 and founded the alumni association in 2012 with his peer Michael Sheldrick, who is now based in New York with the Global Poverty Project.

The concert will be held from 11am to 2pm on November 2 at the Elliston Parade school. Entry is a gold coin donation.
