A VACANT Alkimos home, repossessed by a bank, was not as empty as property managers expected when they visited this month.

The attendees discovered a sophisticated hydroponic cannabis setup spread throughout the house.

Acting Sergeant Stuart Fairlie said police attended the scene about 9.35am on October 10.

“They discovered powerboards, suspended lights and exhaust fans,” he said.

“Three of the four bedrooms had cannabis growing or drying.”

He said officers seized about 60g of cannabis and multiple plants at various stages of maturity.

Inquiries are continuing into who is responsible for the operation.
