The Rotary Club of Mindarie and Ocean Keys Shopping Centre will hold the first swap mart on Sunday, February 23, and on the fourth Sunday of each month thereafter.
Club president Geoff Newby-Butt said the monthly event in the basement car park below Kmart would help raise funds for their projects.
‘The swap mart will raise funds for local Rotary projects and will help us to support more causes and projects in our community,’ he said
They will ask customers to make a gold coin donation to enter the Mindarie Swap Mart and seller site fees will be $10 per site.
Only second-hand goods are allowed to be sold. The sale of pets and food will not be permitted.
‘There has already been an enthusiastic response from buyers and sellers alike ” it will be a great new event for our community to enjoy,’ Mr Newby-Butt said.
Ocean Keys centre manager Karen Draper said the swap mart would be timed to allow shoppers to use the centre.
‘The centre is open from 11am on Sundays, so customers can enjoy the swap mart early and then have brunch at one of our cafes or do some more shopping,’ Mrs Draper said.
