According to the City’s website, the EOI requested demolition of the existing building and the exploration of potential redevelopment for “an aspirational and iconic commercial opportunity”.

The City is also running consultation on the Yanchep Lagoon master plan, which will close on April 19.

UPDATE, April 2: A REPORT on Wanneroo Council’s April meeting agenda outlines plans for the old Yanchep surf life saving club site redevelopment.

The report will seek council’s support on April 9 for a sub-lease and ground sub-lease to Westland Corporate trading as Laguna – Fresh Starts.

It said the company would finalise the detailed design once the sub-lease agreement was finalised and submit a development application, which would also go out for public consultation.

If approved, it is expected to take 15 months to build and fit out the venue, which could open in spring 2020.

The council report said following a two-year rent-free period, the City would receive $20,000 a year in rent, with CPI increases over the 21-year lease.
