On January 26, 751 people from 51 countries will become Australian citizens at the City of Wanneroo’s citizenship ceremony.
Premier Colin Barnett will be the guest speaker and present Australia Day awards with Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts.
The ceremony at Wanneroo Showground will follow a barbecue breakfast, with sports presenter Adrian Barich the MC on the day and entertainment from local performer Bindhu.
Mrs Roberts will do the preamble to the citizenship pledge and the Women’s Healthworks Choir will lead the crowd in singing the National Anthem, as well as performing an Australian song. In 2013, the 1722 residents from almost 70 countries attended citizenship ceremonies held by the City of Wanneroo, including 649 at last year’s Australia Day event.
