Boys charged for Yanchep graffiti and burglaries

POLICE have charged three boys for graffiti damage in Yanchep and another for school burglaries.

“There was an increase in graffiti throughout the suburb,” Yanchep Senior Sergeant Ben Huggett said.

“As a result of information from the public and enquiries by Yanchep police station, we’ve identified and charged a number of juveniles in relation to graffiti.”

Sgt Huggett said officers had charged a 15-year-old boy in relation to burglaries at Yanchep Beach Primary School in August, when mobile phones and tablet devices were allegedly stolen.

“We’ve recovered some of the property,” he said.

Sgt Huggett said they charged the boy with aggravated burglary and stealing as well as drug possession.

He said the investigation, linked to the graffiti issues, was ongoing and police expected to charge another person in coming days.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
